How do I turn the scrolling ticker on and off
On the top right of the page in the status bar is a small colored icon that looks like a graph. Clicking on this icon will toggle the Ticker on and off.
The Ticker shows different information
The scrolling ticker displays the latest items that have been reported stolen or the number of items stolen by brand. The mode switches at random with every page load. You can also click on any of the items in the ticker to see the details for the item or a list of stolen items by the brand you clicked on.
How do I make the site fill my browser window

How do I become a member
Click on Register Located on the top right of the screen in the status window. You will see a very simple registration form with some basic questions. Complete the required fields and click on the submit button and then wait for the confirmation email.
I did not receive my confirmation email
Please check your spam folder if you did not receive the confirmation email. The confirmation email may be treated as spam by some email clients. If you have difficulties, please send us an email.
How do I edit my settings
When you are logged on, click on Tools. You will then be able to customize your setting by clicking on the My Settings menu option. Another way to make changes to your settings is by clicking on My Profile link within the Tools menu. Here, you can upload your avatar and also navigate to the My Settings page as well.
How do I enter an item
Once logged in, click on Register New Item located under the Tools menu option on the top menu bar. Once you are done and click on submit. You will the be redirected to the items page. On that new page, you can upload the images for your item.
How do I place an Item in the classifieds
Click on My Items When you see your item, click on the Item link. You will then be taken to the Item main page where you can click on the Edit Item link to begin editing the item. You can then add an asking price and check the Advertise in Classifieds checkbox.
How do I flag an item as stolen
When you enter a new item, there is a Stolen or Missing checkbox on the form. Just check that box and enter a serial number. You can also edit an existing item and then check off the Stolen or Missing checkbox at that point.
What are Samples
Samples are links to images created using a specific brand and model item. For example, If you register a Canon 50mm lens and there are already sample links to images produced by a Canon 50mm lens, they will show up on your item page. You can also search for sample by clicking on Samples on the menu bar. This will let you search for samples without having to view a specific ad. If there are no links for a registered item, you can add them as a member. However, they will not show up until approved.
What are Companies
Companies is a growing database of important information about a manufacturer. Typically, you will find service telephone numbers and addresses along with other information. When you create a new item entry, chances are the company already has a profile. This means when someone views your ad, they will see a link to the company information. You can also search for the company by clicking on the Companies menu option in the top menu. If no information exists for the company you are viewing you can add information. It will not be displayed until approved.
Mini Forum
The forum is a way for members to discuss topics related to this site. You can create new topics or reply to existing topics. You just need to be logged in as a member.
How do I edit an item
Click on My Items. When you see your item, click on the Item link. You will then be taken to the Item main page where you can click on the Edit Item link to begin editing the item.
How do I edit pictures
Click on My Items. When you see your item, click on the Item link, scroll down and you will see the upload image section on the page. You can delete images by clicking on the delete icon beneath each image.
How do I delete an item
Click on My Items. When you see your item, click on the Item link. You will then be taken to the Item main page where you can click on the Edit Item link to begin editing the item. At the bottom of the page is a Delete icon. Just click on that and confirm.
How do I search
Click on Search located on the top menu bar.
What is the Quick Serial Number Search
Here you can just enter a serial number. All items that have been flagged as stolen and that have a matching serial number will be displayed. If you only have a partial serial number, check off the box for partial match only. This will return all registered items that have the partial serial number that you enterd as part of it's serial number.
What should I do if I find a stolen item
If come across some equipment that has been registered on RYC, please send the owner an email. When you are viewing the item details, you will either see the owners email address or a Send Email link. Please you this to contact the owner.
What is Send Report
When you click on Send Report located under the <strong>Tools</strong> menu option, you will see an Email form with a list of all your registered items. You can use this to email your insurance agent, friends, police or any other party which may need to know your inventory.
